University of Alberta, J.D./LLB, Law

Originally from Nova Scotia, Helen embraced Calgary as her home when she relocated in 2003, despite continuing to pronounce words the “Maritime way”.

While working as a paralegal, Helen completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Certificate in Forensic Psychology. In 2011, she relocated to Edmonton for law school.

With her interest in psychology, Helen finds the practice of family law to be a good fit for her. She specializes assisting clients who are going through high conflict divorce and particularly specializes in acting against narcissists.

Helen currently volunteers at the Calgary Women’s Centre and also hosts seminars on family law topics (look for her Family Law Seminars Meet-Up on the Meet-Up website/app). Her past volunteer experiences include the Camrose Women’s Shelter and the Vancouver Crisis Centre.
