Calgary Lawyer Lindsay Doucet was born and raised in Northern Ontario. After obtaining her B.A. (Honours) in Philosophy and Ethics at Laurentian University, she went on to complete her Master’s degree in Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario prior to beginning law school.
Lindsay graduated from the University of Ottawa’s Common Law Program in 2012, where she completed her Juris Doctor with a focus on Criminal Law, Advocacy, Jurisprudence and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Following law school, Lindsay returned to Northern Ontario and began her articles with the largest, full-service firm in the region. Focusing exclusively on criminal defence law, Lindsay assisted in the defence of individuals and corporations charged with criminal and quasi-criminal offences, including various bylaw infractions and disciplinary proceedings taken against professionals by their regulating bodies. Lindsay participated in all stages of criminal proceedings, from bail hearings to trials to sentencing and appeals.
Lindsay was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2014 and relocated to Calgary a few months later. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 2016.
Lindsay joined the firm in late 2016 and enjoys a general practice, including criminal defence and civil litigation, family law, and wills and estates.
Lindsay has a particular interest in constitutional law and Charter litigation, as well as health law and medical legal issues, including informed consent and end of life issues.
